This contemporary romantic comedy, based on a global bestseller, follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu to Singapore to meet her boyfriend's family.

In Details

The story follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu (Wu) as she accompanies her long time boyfriend, Nick Young (Golding), to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick’s family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life.  It turns out that he is not only the scion of one of the country’s wealthiest families, but also one of its most sought-after bachelors. Being on Nick’s arm puts a target on Rachel’s back, with jealous socialites and, worse, Nick’s own disapproving mother (Yeoh) taking aim. And it soon becomes clear that while money can’t buy love, it can definitely complicate things.

Follow the money and one destination is top of the list, Monte Carlo.  It’s rich and you can go crazy!  Arrival, as you would expect, is by helicopter. The flight along the French coastline from Nice to Monaco is the perfect aperitif for what lies ahead.

A luxury limousine is standing by at Monaco Heliport. The doors open, you’re seated behind privacy glass and the car glides smoothly up the hill to a legendary five star hotel, right on Place du Casino. Everything here looks and feels expensive, because it is!  Over the top, decadent and simply rich.

Naturally, there is a private yacht available. The sun sets and the craft slips its moorings before heading out into the Mediterranean and a glorious sunset. There are some things that money can’t buy.
